All shook up

Even though they were in the small town of Cleburne, Texas, the undercover narcotics investigators still knew what they had to do. They had their cover story. They knew their lines. They moved in on the target. Some talking, and then, and then.... The deal was made. BAM! The trap was sprung.

And Joanne Webb, a former fifth-grade teacher and mother of three, was arrested for selling them a vibrator.

Yes, a vibrator.

Webb is a saleswoman for Passion Parties of Brisbane, CA, a company that sells sex toys, gels, and the like to women in Tupperware-style house parties. The narcs, posing as a dysfunctional married couple in search of a sex aid, busted her on an obscenity charge that could mean a year in jail and a $4000 fine.

Pat Davis, president of the company, said it was the first time any of their reps had been arrested.
She said the company was outraged by the charges and stood behind Webb.

"It makes you wonder what they're thinking out there in Texas," Davis said. "They sound like prudes, with antiquated laws. They must have all their street crime under control in Texas if they're going to spend tax money arresting us."
Or maybe they're just, well, you know, frustrated.
