Mahdjoub is one of dozens of suspected Islamic extremists arrested across Europe in recent weeks as authorities have uncovered new networks that interconnect across France, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Scandinavia and Britain and place Western Europe firmly in the front line of the US-led "war on terrorism." The recent upsurge of violence in the Muslim-dominated region of southern Thailand apparently inspired by outside extremists and mounting security concerns in East Africa and the Horn of Africa underline the extent of the terrorist threat that is spreading as Iraq smolders.Well, yeah, but that's over there and who cares about that?
