I'd call this unintentional humor except that they knew exactly what they were doing

According to a summary of a March 1 Wall Street Journal article (available only by subscription) by PR Watch, a number of big business organizations have formed a new front group for the purpose of lobbying against state and federal efforts to retain US jobs and otherwise restrain globalization. "O'Dwyer's PR Daily reports the coalition 'may hire a national PR firm to get its message across that globalization is a benefit to this country's future.'"

The outfit is called the Coalition for Economic Growth and American Jobs.
