I do not in any way intend to demean Nancy Reagan's obviously genuine grief, but besides having only Republican politicians speak at his service (not inviting either Jimmy Carter or Bill Clinton to say anything) did they really plan to have Ronald Reagan's funeral at sunset, burying him "just before the sun disappeared from the gold-tinged hills in the distance?"
Is even a widow's pain not beyond exploitation for partisan symbolism?
