America the beautiful (or at least not overweight)

In an article in the October Progressive about the Republican National Convention, Elizabeth DiNovella reported the words of Reverend Lou Sheldon of the Traditional Values Coalition at a prayer breakfast.
"I still believe America is fundamentally revival," said Sheldon. "Revival cleanses the soul of two things: guilt and shame."
So America - Sheldon's America - acts shamelessly and feels no guilt about the results. You gotta admire a man that aware of his own constituency.

Footnote: Sheldon went on to give a few hints as to his own proclivities.
"You got a naked woman in Times Square - you can't help but lusting," remarked the reverend. "You know, she's not overweight."
In which case you "can't help" yourself, eh, Rev?
