Footnote to the preceding

In intellectual fairness I have to note that Kerry's website does say that he favors the creation of a Palestinian state.

However, his failure to mention that in his speech, coupled with his endorsement of the "courageous" Sharon, and coming in the wake of Weisglass's admission that Sharon's intent is to prevent not only such a state but even any negotiations toward that end, I'm genuinely suspicious of just how sincere that commitment is and how long it will last in the face of Sharon's intransigence.
