>>>I remember the stolen presidential election of 2000 and I am willing to take action in 2004 if the election is stolen again.>>>The URL left was that of FreeRepublic.com, home of the sorry collection of mouth-breathing troglodytes known as "freepers." The email address given was that of the site's webmaster. The name used was mine. In other words, obviously (and intentionally obviously) phony. The originating IP address was that of an outfit in Spain. Doubtless hijacked for the occasion.
Willing to take action????
Hah?
You make your wife work at Filenes so you can play on the internet.
The only action you will take is to complain on this blog.
Loser.
Four more years fucknose.
I take it the reference to "Filenes," assuming it's accurate, is supposed to be one of those vaguely threatening "we know who you are" remarks. (Although I suppose accuracy doesn't matter, the intent is the same.) But of course it's deniable, no explicit threat is made, so the perpetrator can always blink with feigned innocence and proclaim "whatever do you mean?" I had some comments along similar lines from this same person last spring - again using phony names, URLs, and IP addresses. Classes can't be that tough if you have this much time on your hands, eh, bro? (Yes, it's a guy. Then again, most of them are.)
But what I wanted to note is how it's always the same. They're always the same. Ignorant, immature, underdeveloped, snotnosed brats, failures as human beings, who equate brute force with morality and infantile insult (Did you ever come across one that didn't include both "fuck"something and "loser?") with logical rigor; craven cowards who talk tough while skulking in sniveling anonymity, finding their only courage in mob action.
What a waste of space they are. Happily, many will grow out of it and look back on it, when they do, with embarrassment. The others will turn into intellectually-inferior clones of James Dobson and Paul Wolfowitz.
The truly sad thing is, they probably would regard that last statement as a compliment.
And with that, back to ingoring Little Boy Winger desperately trying to play with the grown-ups. I'm sure he's dancing around, gleeful that he got a reaction. Which, of course, only proves my point.
Updated by way of a Footnote: Just out of curiosity, I emailed the webmaster at FreeRepublic with the text of the comment, saying "I realize you may have no problem with the sentiment but I was wondering how you felt about your email address being falsely used." His reply was "I don't like it a bit." Even this guy's ideological comrades don't like his style.
