
Well, the whole business has now evaporated. For one, it turns out that it wasn't only groups with something like “Tea Party” in their name that got targeted for scrutiny. There were a lot of other flags, including words like “Progressive” and “Occupy” and "Israel" and "open source software" and no, that last one is not a joke.
And for another, it emerges that the entire reason the Treasury inspector general to highlight scrutiny of conservative groups, but not liberal groups, is that the creepy-crawly chair of the House Oversight Committee, Darrell Isajerk, told the inspector general “to narrowly focus on Tea Party organizations.”
The whole "scandal" was a fake, a fraud, a set-up, a lie. And I have no compunction about saying I told you so.
