Outrage of the Week: US intelligence knew in advance of attack, gave no warning

I had to cut myself off at the previous item because I have one more thing I have to get to: the Outrage of the Week. This, too, is about Syria.

Foreign Policy magazine reports that:
American intelligence agencies had indications three days beforehand that the Syrian regime was poised to launch a lethal chemical attack that killed more than a thousand people and has set the stage for a possible U.S. military strike on Syria.
They knew - three days in advance, they knew. They knew that Assad was preparing a major nerve gas attack - and they did nothing. They said nothing. They told no one except each other. The Syrian opposition, the target of this attack, one so despicable we have to respond with more death or it will be a "catastrophe" for our "credibility," the Syrian opposition was not told. The victims, the ones who cause such tears in the high offices of the White House, the victims were left in the dark.

If using chemical weapons is such a monstrous crime, if gassing people is such a monstrous crime, what of those who passively stand by and allow it to happen?

Outrage doesn't begin to cover it.
