20.3 - Footnote: Enzi gets tutu'ed

Footnote: Enzi gets tutu'ed

As a sort of Footnote to that, since we're talking about LGBTQ rights, I wanted to mention the case of Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi.

At a visit to a high school in the state on April 25, a student reminded him that Wyoming is called "the equality state" and then asked him what he was doing to better the lives of LGBTQ folks.

His answer rambled about the need for "civility" and suggested LGBTQ folks would be fine if they just kept their mouths shut about who they are, and said by way of illustration, and this is a quote:
"I know a guy who wears a tutu and goes to bars on Friday night and is always surprised that he gets in fights. Well, he kind of asks for it."
Enzi was backtracking madly by the next day, but it was already too late: People from all over the state, both men and women, were donning colorful tutus and going out to bars, restaurants, and other establishments and posting the pictures on social media under the hashtag #LiveAndLetTutu.

And guerilla theater lives again.
