We start this week with something that I wish I could call Good News but I really can't.
Tamir Rice |
It makes you want to say that at least there was some breath of justice - but I can't.
Not only because it is too little too late, but because - and this is what turns my stomach about this - he wasn't fired for anything to do with Tamir Rice. He was fired for, quoting the department, "rule violations concerning his application process to be considered a cadet with the division of police."
In other words, he lied on his job application. Which is apparently a bigger crime in the eyes of the Cleveland police than shooting down a 12-year-old.
