Compare and contrast

Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin is a man with a scandal swirling all around him. It seems the under the government of his predecessor and Liberal Party colleague, Jean Chretien, a plan to promote Canada became a means by which "millions in commissions, fees and wasteful contracts were funnelled to Liberal-friendly firms," as a Toronto Star editorial puts it.

"After two days of rudderless weaving and bobbing," Martin stepped forward.
"Anybody who knew about that and did nothing should resign immediately," he insisted yesterday. ...

Martin has requested a full public inquiry by Mr. Justice John Gomery, and has rightly offered to testify. He has urged any cabinet minister who knew about wrongdoing to resign. And in an appeal to whistleblowers that should guarantee full protection, he has urged bureaucrats, Liberal workers, or any citizen with knowledge of the scandal to come forward.
He was also quoted as "inviting those who had a part in the sponsorship affair to resign from their positions before he came for them."

Now, class, your assignment is to compare and contrast Mr. Martin with regard to this matter and Mr. Bush with regard to Valerie Plame. Please have your assignments completed by Monday. Have a good weekend.
