Three hundred people of the al-Madain district in south-east Baghdad were poisoned yesterday because of drinking polluted water. Chairman of the District Advisory Council Hameed Husam said poisoning was the result of drinking water supplied by the Diala river which is full of pollutants from sewage and industrial waste.Can toxic waste dumps be far behind?
