First footnote

Three studies that came out just before the IPCC report also point to the impact of climate change.

- Save the Children estimated that 50 million more children would be affected by climate-related disasters like droughts, floods and storms every year over the next 10 years as compared to the previous 10 years.

- Risk Management Solutions, a risk modeling firm, said that businesses are already starting to feel ill effects of global warming, with losses from weather-related disasters climbing an average of 2% per year since the 1970s.

- Great Britain's Environment Agency declared that temperatures would continue to rise for the next 40 years regardless of emissions curbs due to the effects of greenhouse gases already emitted.
