Three-quarters of those surveyed say they worry about global warming, up 7 points from six months ago. But the most notable shift is in the intensity of public feeling. Four in 10 (41 percent) said they worry "a lot" about global warming, and that's up 8 points. Those who said they worry somewhat held steady and the number who say they didn't worry about the issue at all dropped 6 points to 24 percent. In addition, 70% of Americans expressed the belief that government can do "something" or "a lot" about the problem and nearly two-thirds agreed that international cooperation can result in a reduction in global warming. People also were aware of the shortcomings of those efforts: 61% gave the US no better than a "C" grade on working with other nations on the issue.
