Left Side of the Aisle #102 - Part 7

Update #1: More transparency reports

I'll finish off this week's show with a couple of very quick updates.

First, a couple of weeks ago I gave Google a Hero Award - yes, I know Google has been evil in any number of ways, but I gave it a Hero Award for doing the right thing and becoming the first technology company to report on the number of requests it had received from law enforcement to provide customer information.

Now, both Twitter and Microsoft have followed with their own first what Microsoft is calling "transparency reports." Microsoft says it will update the report every six months.

Hopefully, other companies will follow the path being laid out so people can know just how widespread these demands for our personal information really are.
