Footnote: Cleveland's bogus "apology"
I have to add a quick footnote: Cleveland Mayor Frank Jackson offered an apology for the "insensitive" language used in the city's brief and said the city would file an amended brief in a few days.
However, Dan Ball, speaking on behalf of the city, said the city will change the language in its answer but "they intend to preserve all of their defenses." In other words, they are still going to blame Tamir Rice for his own killing at the hands of a trigger-happy cop, they're just going to find nicer-sounding words to do it.
I really don't understand why that's supposed to make it better.
